The investment seeks to outperform the Bloomberg Barclays U.S. Aggregate Index by maximizing total return through a combination of income and capital appreciation. Under normal market conditions, the fund invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes) in bonds. Other types of income producing securities, such as convertible bonds, hybrid bonds and preferred stock, may also be considered in seeking to achieve the fund's investment objective.
