I take data protection seriously. Before Minafi, I’ve worked as a developer on a number of secure systems – credit card processing, PCI Compliance, GDPR compliance and more. I take the idea of knowing exactly where your data is going and making it clear important. With that in mind, here’s a list of exactly where your data is going and what’s being tracked here on Minafi.
Where Your Information Goes
If you comment on a post your email will be stored on Minafi’s servers (within WordPress and in a Postgres cache).
If you sign up for my mailing list or create an account, your email will be stored on a privately hosted Sendy email list server.
If you use any interactive guides when signed in, that data will be associated with your user.
If you would like your data to be completely removed from all servers, I can do that manually for you. Just fill out my contact form with “Data Removal Request” and I’ll get back to you. If you would just like to unsubscribe from the email list, you can do that from the footer of any email.
Where Your Information is Tracked
I try to keep Minafi loading fast, so there are not many external plugins running. The few that are running include:
Google Analytics, which I use to track general information about visitors which runs through Google Tag Manager.
Yep, that’s it!
Why is it Being Collected?
Emails are collected to continue communicating with you awesome people.
For Google Analytics, there’s no identifiable data at a personal level (no IP address), so I’m mostly curious about what brings people to Minafi and what they do here. That helps me figure out what I should write more about.
Who Will it be Shared With?
Emails won’t be shared with anyone. Let’s get that out of the way first.
Anonymized calculator data may be rolled up into similar results and shared in the form of blog posts, research articles, papers, and other documentation.
In all cases, these will be combined into groups (ex: avg salary by age) as opposed to releasing individual data. In all cases, it wouldn’t be relatable back to a person or an email address as those are stored in different systems and it’s pain even for me to look those up.
If you have any questions about your data, please let me know!
