The investment seeks to provide yield consistent with preservation of capital, while limiting volatility due to changes in interest rates. The fund operates as a "fund of funds." As a result, the fund pursues its investment objective by investing in other investment companies including exchange-traded funds ("ETFs") (collectively, "underlying funds") that are advised by Dimensional Fund Advisors LP and that, in turn, invest in short-duration fixed income securities. It may engage in active trading of securities which can increase transaction costs (thus lowering overall performance).
