The investment seeks above average income and capital appreciation. The fund invests primarily in income-producing equity securities. Its holdings ordinarily will be in dividend paying stocks of mid-capitalization (or "mid-cap") to large-capitalization (or "large-cap") domestic companies. The fund may also invest, to a lesser extent, in securities of foreign issuers, and may invest in real estate investment trusts and securities of other investment companies. The fund may invest in derivative contracts and/or hybrid instruments to implement elements of its investment strategy.
