The investment seeks to maximize total return, principally through a high level of current income, and secondarily through capital appreciation. The fund invests primarily in high income producing instruments, rated at the time of purchase below "BBB-" by Standard & Poor's Rating Service ("S&P"), or below "Baa3" by Moody's Investors Service, Inc. It normally invests in a diversified portfolio of high income producing securities. The fund may invest up to 20% of its net assets in global equity securities.
